Alfonso Soriano became only the 4th Major League Baseball player to hit 40 home runs and also steal 40 bases in the same season. He joins Alex Rodriguez (1998), Barry Bonds (1996) and Jose Canseco (1988).
Nobody who takes so much as a glance at Soriano would suggest that he is using illicit enhancers to bulk up; he is anything but bulky. He is a lean, mean hitting machine, thus casting aside any taint to his accomplishment. I take a certain comfort in this knowledge.
